Looking to get my creek boat to Los Angeles. Anyone know a cheap way to ship a kayak?

Try Sports Express. They do have a dot.com site. Perhaps Google search it. It's a company out of Durango. Anyway, I've had them send my creek boat (LL Huck) from Hood River to Durango, and it was like $60 or something. Worth a shot.

Rasta, your creeker is probably bigger than the Sports Express limit (because you're a rather large mammal), but that's a great option because its door to door. Worth the first call for sure.

Forward Air takes about 5 days max and it was usually $50 or so, but I imagine that fuel costs have bumped that price. I've used them a number of times, and have had no problems. As GH mentioned, it is Terminal-to-Terminal....which means you're probably taking a ride to Burbank or some such hellhole to retrieve your boat.
