Cebolla Creek

Planning to do a 2 day trip on Gunny Gorge and looking for other things the entire crew can get on. Cebolla Creek seems like one thing to hop on. Anyone know about a gauge .. the run itself .. other beta for this or good class 3-4+ creeks/runs to do while in the area?

Thanks.

Brian

use the new, lower put in. the landowners at the 149 bridge have strung up new fencing this year across the creek in hopes of deterring boaters. theyre good friends of mine and ive spoken at length with their son about the issue, but they stand firm and wont allow it. the water here has been dropping lately, so i dont know what flow will be like. the lake fork canyon is a solid class IV run thats right nearby, you can lap it if youre jonesing. otherwise the taylor is a good bet for fun action.

this run should be taken out of the bible. Sure its a nice solid class 2 and 3 creek but there is no good put in and requires a paddle accross the largest resivour in Coloraodo full of moterized boats and where, when the wind picks up, can be very difficult to cross. The shuttle takes about an hour.

Instead go up to the taylor river for some solid class 3 and lots of play, the gunny through town for liesure float and 2 man made waves, the Lake Fork has dropped below really good levels. The rocks in there are sharp and it is not recomended below 700 cfs.

My best scenario is go strait to the Gorge, get your shuttle taken care of and relax for a bit befor the trek to the put in and spend 3 days in the gorge. it is so worth it. hope you have a good stow-away fishing rod.

enjoy

Thanks for the information on the runs in the area. We are getting in the Canyon on Thursday and Friday.
