Cascade Falls-Chalk Creek

Pulled over by cascade falls on chalk creek which spits into the ark, anyone ever lose their sanity by putting in here? Definitely bony class VI with pin/piton/broach consequences. But surely someone was crazy enough to try and send it...

I thought someone ran it in a duckie a couple of decades ago.

There is a ton of stories about people runnin this one but not one single pic. I would love someone to prove me wrong here!

Seems to me if someone was to fire up this roadside/ photographic and very possible 1st D I wonder why they would not take a pic. Marco C in 95 or 96 is the only time this might have been run IMO.

As far as the 02 run the river wide strainers in the bottom quarter of this have made a run of the entire rapid impossible for the last 8 or so years.

So did this kiwi boof the strainer(s) or just run the top or part?

Come on if someone ran this prove me wrong and post a pic!!!!!

I actually did not witness it, but my brother, who lives in Salida, did. He ran safety for the guy. I'm headed down to FibArk this weekend so I'll ask him about it. I can ensure you that this guy did run it. Not sure if it was just a portion or the whole thing though. My brother thought it was a 1st D at the time. I don't know if they got footage or not.

Konfirmation: Marco was our vid boater at BJ's that year, being '95. I went up there with those dudes, I don recall him running the cascades, but he did run the upper stretch of Chalk, including the box canyon.

I'll never forget, Marco was the first dude I ever saw 'splat' a rock in a kayak!
