What's the ole sayin',half the paddle twice most of the paddlers! It's funny being from Alabama that there aren't that many OC-1 boaters out here. Those damn canoeist are everywhere in the east! What's the difference guys? The big water, stereotype,or just not enough of in between water(meaning 3-4 whitewater).I would like to here from the source. We have some amazing OC-1 boaters in AL,and i've always wondered why they don't meander west?Sorry hear,I've had a beer!

I used to boat with some of the best OC1 peeps on east coast. The lack of eddies and fewer pool drop rapids (at least in CO) make it much harder to empty your boat. If you ever paddle with a good OC boater follow their line. They like to take the driest line and have an advantage of sitting up higher to see down river better.

It's definitely easier to open boat in the southeast. Even on the Class V runs like Green, Raven Fork etc. there are good eddys between the drops so you can dump the water out of your boat.

Canoeing in Colorado is tougher because the runs are so much more continuous, fewer eddys etc. I've been scared to death out here before on Class IV (Clear Creek) because I couldn't stop and got a canoe full of water and had to run the next 1/2 mile totally full.

I think that's why you don't see more canoers in Colorado. It's definitely possible to canoe in Colorado it's just harder to develop the skills without getting frustrated and switching to C-1. Also, there are a lot of other canoers to boat with in the southeast which makes it fun.

Can't wait to see it - especially the Colorado sections. Thanks Dooley and crew!

Missed this before. Looks like a great movie. I want.

In other news I just checked and after watching the trailer my Badass Meter is broken. Must get recalibrated.
