On Sunday 6/6/04 our group was paddling the Crystal from Crystal Mill Falls to the Crystal Gorge. Near the end of the run, just above the waterfall with a house on the right, a swim occurred. A blue MadRiver Outrage open boat was swept into the gorge section. We hiked as far as feasible into the gorge from both the top and bottom but did not find the boat.
If not destroyed, the boat is likely pinned somewhere in the Crystal Gorge. Please be careful of this new potential hazard and if the boat is somehow extricated form the gorge please contact me.
