camping in durango/silverton area?

Anybody got a recommendation for a good spot to camp in the area this weekend? Thanks.

Try the put for upper lime crk. If there are noneat the top the is a campground @ the take out.

I think they close the road down on sat or Sun for the Iron Horse Race so don't get stuck there unless you plan to do Lime.

Camping in Silverton: Good camping up Mineral creek, also near Eureka. High country chilly camping on the passes. Great 10 milerun from Eureka to Silverton down Animas right now. Continuous class 3 with a class 4 pourover.

Durango will be a zoo with the Iron horse Race. 550 closed Saturday until noon to Silverton. Good camping up Hermosa creek drainage . I run the Avalanche Coffeehouse in Silverton. Come by and see us for grub & java

by the way, is south mineral creek doable now, or too much water/snow?
