Cali Season!

I was wondering when the high sierra california season is. I know that it depends on the snow pack, and can vary widely from year to year. I was thinking for some of the bigger runs like middle kings, upper cherry, etc. It's probably best to hit it on the way down, not the way up because of snow. Is mid to late July about right? Or am I way off. Does anyone know when most people try and hit up those runs.

Nice man, those runs are some of the best in Cali. Typically the high sierra multi days start running staggard from early June to late July, with a week window to a couple days for each run. This year has been abismal for rain and snow, finally getting a little now. You definantly want to hit them all on the way down, as they slowly drop from the peak runnoff. This year, as of now, mid to late July i would guess would be too late. Plan on mid to late June (upper cherry) to early July (middle kings). Just keep checking in on snow pack levels, and look at Boof.com for info from some of the local boaters out there as it gets closer. cross your finger for a miracle march! hope this helps some.
