Byers Canyon Flows, Whats up?

The guage for byers canyon is at 600 something. I saw it at 900 a couple of weeks ago and just thought it was a malfunction. Is it for real? Is anyone boating it? And why would the geniuses at Denver Water be releasing water right now?

The river probably froze over near the gaging station leading to false readings. It would be great if it was running.

Byer's Canyon flow goes into the Colorado River below Granby reservoir. This flow eventually goes into Gore Canyon. There are numerous other creeks that also feed into the Colorado before Gore Canyon.

Since the Gore Canyon/Pumhouse flow is less than Byer's Canyon, something must be wrong with Byer's Canyon.

I was looking at that too with all the warm weather we have had. I heard that on those hot days, the snow at the top of WP was slush so maybe there was some runoff increase.

Byers Canyon does not flow into the Colorado River, it is the Colorado through Byers Canyon below Hot Sulpher Springs. I agree that there might be something amiss with the gauge.
