Buzzard Creek

Can anyone tell me if this is flowing? CRC says the gauge is visual. Anybody have any info for me about the run other than what the book says? Thanks in advance. Evan

The only other way to check is go to the usgs site below the first flow chart on the flows section of Mtn buzz. Look for plateau creek first at collbran then at the cameo gauge, subtract the two. That should give you buzzard plus other tribs in that area, but buzzard should be pumping most of it. I havent heard of anyone running it yet this year. There just isn't the snowpack up there that we had last year, but the temps have been cooler recently. Otherwise its all visual. Find someone who lives in Collbran and ask them what the creek looks like.

buzzard creek

I ran buzzard on may 7 2006. plateau creek guage said 780 so we figured about 400-500 in buzzard. ski_kayak has the right idea for the guage. A friend of mine told me this creek runs early like crc sayes but a rancher at the take out said the creek runs higher in june, so i'm not sure if we caught it comming up or down? As far as the run goes your going to donate lots of plastic on this one, FU rocks everywhere! A group of 4 is about the max for this creek and probably to many at peak flows. Their were no seasonal fences and you can hardly see the cable crc talks about, their is alot of wood and some tricky corners but managable fun class IV.

I'm pretty sure Barry cut out the cable last year.
