flat water

hey - how about gross? i saw for the first time doing SBC (from afar)...looks pretty there, and boulder master dude says you can now paddle legally, as long as you bring your non-motor craft is on your car (no trailers) - not sure about carry length or other restrictions, but i was hoping to do some camping out there. maybe someone else will tell us more about logistics.

have fun - S

Watercraft are not allowed on Buttonrock. The kayak pass through that is currently under a trial period only allows kayaks to pass through the preserve. Boats must enter from the North St. Vrain and travel to the East through the preserve. The only access to the preserve is by foot. There is a gate approximately 1.5 miles from the reservoir.

The city has been very cooperative in working with us to open access to exit North St. Vrain. We are still under a trial period so please don't challenge something that seems to be working very well. Thanks, Peter Roth

Pinewood Lake up above Carter Lake is a great canoe spot. There is also some hidden campsites that you can only get to by canoe. I haven't personally found them yet but I was told they are there.

Let me know if you find them

I'm pretty sure Gross is fine for non-motorized watercraft. Looks like car top carried boats only. This is not an official Denver Water Board publication, but I'm assuming they're correct on their facts.

East of Loveland (north of Longmont). Pinewood lake is on the Northwest side of Carter Lake.
