I'm glad so many people got to run it/flip it/swim it last night at over 6000. I almost waited until tonight, thinking I would get the obligatory pre-river trip Walmartin' episode in early. I'm glad I put that off instead.

Pocket Pool

ALright Durango, Lets take a look at what Glenwood has overcome in order to get a REAL ww park. Its time for those of us that are out there using this everyday to step up and make a case for putting DGO back on the map. I am one of the people who needs to speak up. The rest of you know who you are. We have left this to other people long enough, Corner pocket was sweet, smelter has been hit or miss over the years, clocktower was fun, all of these have washed away to some extent. The argument that "we can't change the natural feel of the river" is bullshit, it runs through downtown, it is downstream of a superfund site, in the middle of a waste treatment plant, upstream of the A-LP Project, the river through town lost its natural character 100 years ago. Luke Hanson, Warren Starrett, Tim Hawkins, Nick Maez, Orion Chapman, Ben, Drew, Cary, Jay, Bobby, Chip, Aaron, Kelli, JW, Jimbo, Missy, Kimi, the list goes on, We have numbers. Let's get our voices heard. Thanks, Tony Miely

Woohoo Gary Lacy!

You guys should get Nick Turner to do it next time around. Now that guy knows what he's doing.

While my time in the Pocket was brief, every ride was a good one. It will be missed.

Sucks that the pocket is gone. How many times has it changed now?

The animas through town has been altered in a few places to make room for th highway. I have a picture of the old smetler and the river taken in 1888 that shows the river in a different spot than it is now.

Anyone who says no to a park because it changes the natural flow of the river is way off base. The natural flow was changed long ago.

Money talks, if there is a way to show the impact of kayaking on the community that speaks in terms of dollars, and that impact is significant, town will pony up some money to make it happen.

The animas town run is ripe for multiple play spots for all levels. There should be a dozen of them from 9th street down through Santa Rita.

As well, the park needs to be coordinated, designed and built by professionals, with local input. The Glenwood feature is unreal. I vote that the River Restoration group with Jason and Crystal fix the Animas.

See you guys in Glenwood.
