I just use those plastic hand paddles as a spare.
They will work when paddling Westwater and the ranger asks to see your spare paddle and they weigh nothing.

Buy Lendal online

Being new to Durango, I don't yet know who sells Lendal in the area. I've been paddling Lendal paddles now for six years and all I use is the four piece breakdown. You can buy Lendal stuff online through Rutabaga at Kayaks, Canoes and Paddling Accessories and they'll hook you up.

Anyway, sorry if this isn't what you're looking for because you initially posted about Werner but I do highly recommend the Lendal because of it's bomber padlok system.

Sweet, I just picked one up from Rutabaga...and it didn't even take me a month to find.

"Good luck finding one though, I spent a month tracking them down."
I hope in the future Americans are thought of as a warlike, vicious people, because I bet a lot of high schools would pick "Americans" as their mascot. -Jack Handy

If anyone has a Werner Rio 4-piece, you might want to contact Werner because they are replacing the plastic blades with fiberglass blades free of charge on the paddle that I bought last year or maybe two years ago. I bought mine online and they were able to contact me via email, but if you bought yours in a store you might not know that they're having a recall.
