I smoozed my way onto a commercial trip on the Class III/IV section above the "Slalom Course"(name of the section not a racecourse) in Bovec this May. "Okay I rent you kayak but there is no rescue", they normally only rent kayaks on the class II section. I wish the Numbers were that fun, but they're not. No need for a water bottle drink out of the river. There are two class V sections above (i scouted one of them and I'm going back) and one below.

-Original poster: Remind me never to go into sales. There are s**tloads of awesome rivers accessible from Munich (or, if you like skiing, Innsbruck). Some of them have all sorts of restrictions, not all of them run all of the time, but once you're willing to cross the Alps (and as an American, you'll find European distances cute) it is a gigantic world. And no snakes or crocs or spiders (sorry to the Australians, I love you guys, but your fauna/entire continent evolved to kill)
-Eljim: If you want to rent a kayak and/or want a guide for the more interesting stuff, try Igor Mlekuz in Cezsoca, first place after the bridge when you drive down from Bovec.
Just wondering where you've found two class V sections upriver from the Srpenica II to Trnovo I section? The 3rd gorge has class V consequences, but is a technical -IV at best (then again, maybe I've listened too much to my instructors who maybe sandbagged so that we wouldn't think of ourselves as class IV boaters before we're really ready)
Regarding the cataract, only do that with somebody who really knows the section extremely well; the syphons there kill.
