Blue River pops back up--twice!

All,
Forget what I said yesterday about flows in the Lower Blue. After a call from the State Engineer's Office today, we are changing our releases.

Today, Friday September 14, we upped releases from Green Mountain by 50 cfs. There should be about 860 cfs in the Lower Blue by this evening.

Sunday, September 16, we will up releases again, this time by about 70 cfs, putting 930 cfs in the Lower Blue.

I anticipate these flows to last at least through Sunday and into Monday.

Have a great weekend,
Kara

Hey, Kara, I see the Blue is holding at 930 and the Upper Colorado is currently 1430 (a record high for this time of year according to USGS, YEEHAW Gore!). Is it possible to predict whether this will hold for the weekend? Thanks. As you know, we are all eternally indebted to you.

Lower Blue

Count and all,
I'm not sure what we'll have through the weekend, yet. We are dropping releases back by about 110 cfs this afternoon. That will put the Lower Blue around 820 cfs later today.

But, tomorrow there is another coordination call on the Colorado River, as there is every Wednesday between the various reservoir operators, the State Engineer's Office, and others. I'll know better what the weekend will look like come Thursday after the call and any changes that result. I do not anticipate much of a change; that is to say, I'm expecting releases similar to what we've been seeing these last few weeks (700-900 cfs).

As always, I'll post the changes here by Thursday so you can plan ahead.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Kara
