Cool trip report, thanks. That gorge area above Hague Creek is one of my fish research field sites. Mike Pagel hiked in there with me about a year ago and was psyched to see boatable water- he's talked about doing your trip from the source a lot since.
The park moved some boulders around below that 10 footer a couple years ago, to try to clog up the landing zone. Doesn't seem like they clogged it up too much if you guys ran it. Did you put your boats in just a couple meters above the falls? The steep drops right above it didn't seem runnable to me. The park was trying to make it so fish in the pool below the falls couldn't get a running start on jumping up the falls. It's hard to believe, but fairly small brook trout have been found to get up that falls! If they were successul at blocking brook trout migration up the falls, they were going to consider that area as a restoration site for greenback cutthroat trout.
