Big South beta

Looking for some beta on the Big South. I've read the description in "the Bible" but am looking for a bit more so if some of you FoCo boys can lend a brother a hand it'd be much obliged. I hear most the drops are pretty walkable and am feeling that it will probably come down to that. I'm not gonna travel to walk a bunch of drops so what I'm looking for is a more concise description of drops and the danger factor. Read some posts but a little more never hurts (kind of like whiskey).

You can walk all of the class 5 drops. Some people walk non... Some people walk 5-10.

Scott

PS. Hopefully you are good enough to play "follow the leader" through stout class 4+.

Not quite sure what you want out of this post - there are a lot of drops and lots have been written about them. It sounds like you want an novel. I would say if you're comfortable running IV+ to V- on direction in a remote location, but uncomfortable running V+ then you will walk 3 to 4 times. If you're uncomfortable with the former then there will be lots of hiking.

Upper section is more one shot rapids and you end in a pool. Obviously Cool World and Meltdown are a little technical. As is Fantasy flight. I say run them all except the big three and just deal with maybe getting rolled. Low risk factor.

Bottom stuff is more prolonged rapids and include the final biggin Double T. If you can run lower narrows at 3ft then everything is good to go. Slideways gets broken down into three parts so its nice and easy if you do it right.
Hope this help with your thought process.
