Big Boatin' the Noli

We hadn't done a Big Boat session in a while so Woody and I decided to make a trip up to the Noli and bring along some newbie long boat paddlers. Â*Whitney has paddled a Pisgah once before, but Yonton hadn't done the big boat thing before. Â*We knew he would like it but pretty foreign to him.

I bet the big boats would make for a good river camping trip too.

Here is a video of a company trip we took. You do need quicktime 7 for this video. Fun trip and fun way to get down the river with all the camping stuff.

Bowen:
FYI: The pisgah is a Liquid Logic rec/touring kayak and not a rapid on the Westwater Section of the Colorado River.
Shane's post had to do with paddling those big rec boats on the Nolichucky River which weaves between North Carolina and Tennessee.

Old school boater who used to live in the area back in the early 80's, God I loved the noli. Met god in jaws at 3 feet in oldschool dancer I'll never forget that. You page broke my heart, hardwoods, leaves, new growth. The smell of the smokies in the early spring. I need to get back.
