Beta on the big waterfall / Cinnamon Gorge

Sorry it took so long. Been boating and driving. For those who are interested, I put some pix in the Creeking galleria here at the 'Buzz.

For those who emailed about it, it is DEFINITELY way too low to run now, and was definitely too low when you originally asked too. When Jeremy and I were there the run was already dropping out. The falls had plenty o water as you can see, but the rapids above/below it were about to get too low.

As for where the access is, we did not trespass that I know of. We did about a 2.5 mile run. Took out at the bridge near Sherman (ghost town) and put in up the dirt road at 10,200 feet across from an avalanche slide.

It is a heavy drop. Tuck up tight.

its on the lake fork of the gunnison, above the town of lake city and above lake san cristobal. drive south on the county road past the end of the lake and drive until you see a sign point left to sherman (cottonwood creek is down this road) and go right for cinnamon pass. the big falls is up a mile or two, you come out onto the shelf road past a viewpoint for sherman and wander up the side of the cliff for a while, at which point the road makes a big turn to the right around a huge side gully. the big falls is right above this gully. put in anywhere further up than that that you can get access and take out at the sherman bridge. dalton and co put in 2.5 mi up, i dont know where that is in relation to burrows park, but you could very easily put in there for a (possibly) longer ride.
