mike, sorry to see you get injured last night. kent was gonna wait for you, but we pulled him into the group & got him down in fine shape as I wasn't sure if anyone else was above us.
I had my left shoulder repaired due to a bike/car/pavement collision in august. 75% glenoid labrium tear (SLAP is what they refer to it as). I went to Cornerstone Ortho in Louisville based on a friend's rec, they took forever/dicked around on diagnosing the issue, even though I knew there was damage needing repair.
Based on my PT, Jeremy Rodgers at Colorado Sports Chiro in Louisville (he is a paddler as well), I went to see Dr Reid at Orthopedic Professional Association, about 2 doors down from Cornerstone. I went in, told everyone I was walking out with a surgery date ASAP, & sure enough that is what I got & Dr Reid was great, no BSing around, done deal. Had surgery 2 days before Turkey Day.
I had my right repaired 16yrs ago (same issue & same repair type) & had pain & some weakness for 2-4 yrs afterwards. This shoulder just fixed, no pain, no weakness, couldn't tell I ever had surgery other than it's probably in better shape now than prior.
I'd highly recommend these two Dr Rogers (PT) & Dr Reid for Surgery. Also if you can get the GameReady... speeds up healing time. Best of luck!
