Beginners run?

I'm new to this forum, so I hope this is the best way to ask my question.

Well, I haven't been kayaking/rafting for very long (I can handle class II pretty easily on a duckie). Some friends who have never been at all want to come on a float. What would be a good river, in your opinion, for us to do? Some where from 3-7 days, in May. Also, we live in Utah, so it would nice to do something close (meaning less than 6 hours away).

I think Ruby & Horsethief fits your bill, might be a little short:

Ruby & Horsethief Canyon

Ok, thanks. I'll definitely look into that.
Anyone else have something to suggest?

How about the Green River, for Green River Utah to the confluence of the Colorado. This run requires a permit or two and lining up a river shuttle to take you back up the Colorado to Moab.

You could also do the Colorado from the Westwater take out down to Moab or Potash. This run would be easier and cheaper to set shuttle and requires no permits. Both are flat water sections with no major rapids to contend with.
