To get to the chutes (my way) take Santa Fe south to Sedalia, go west through Sedalia and stay on the road until you get to a split, take the right past the cafe, watch your butt going down the hill towards Deckers, it gets real steep. Take a right when you get to the T in the road, you head down a few miles and you'll see a large boulder constriction, park where the sign says you can park and scout it.

My way avoids the insanity of US 285 southbound...

"The chutes" are about 2 miles upstream from the confluence. See here:
