Become an ACA Whitewater Kayak Instructor
Join American Canoe Association ITE Chris Shelly for an ACA Kayak Instructor Certification Workshop in May! This course is one of the best ways to not only gain instructor certification, but to also improve your boating skills.
Poudre River Kayak and Canoe in Fort Collins will be hosting an American Canoe Association IDW/ICE Kayak Instructor Certification Course Monday May 23 - Thursday May 26. The course will focus on paddling and teaching techniques on flatwater through Class III+/IV whitewater and will take place in the classroom, pond, and river. Students will spend time leading break-out sessions, analyzing video, and practicing skills in a supportive group environment. Participants will be certified at the flatwater, moving water, or whitewater level upon completion of the course. The ACA IDW/ICE course is the nationally recognized certification course for whitewater instruction.
The course will be led by ACA Instructor Trainer Educator and Jackson Kayak athlete Chris Shelly. Chris has been a leading instructor for more than 15 years and most recently held the position of Program Director at RMOC.
The cost for the course is $415. ACA registration dues are separate from this cost.
