How is that credit card debt treating ya? You better save some room, I heard you and your crew were heading out to Cherry Creek, your going to need money for the medical bills or search and rescue. Let me know when your leaving so I can take a life insurance policy out on you.
Executive Producer or not I want my copy. I think what we have here is a very private discussion unfortunately taking place on a very public forum and the discussion has certainly strayed a great ways from the postings original intent. Regardless of opinions on whether Light in Liquid will ever see the proverbial "light of day," in a finished format, including very high profile (and therefore expensive) musical accompaniment is really of no concern at this time.
What is of concern is that our paddling brethren Adrock has taken a set of limited resources and succeeded in entertaining the local community, raising funds for the the whitewater park and American Whitewater, and in being recognized by Banff, who will be showing his short as part of the Radical Reels tour which happens to be stopping in Fort Collins on Saturday night. Which in turn was the original reason for the post - to let people know that a local whitewater short with local paddlers is going to be playing on a worldwide tour of Banff recognized films. Pretty cool.
All laser masturbation aside, and this has been stated already, Adrock's dreams of seeing his cinematography produced and set to the likes of Modest Mouse, Ben Harper and The Roots etc., is a bit far fetched to most of the paddling community, and rightfully so, as even Scott Lindgren and the YGP would have a difficult time in lining up those acts for inclusion in one of their much higher budget kayak films. But who's to say that a man can't dream and dream big, and that Adrian doesn't have the resources to find his EP in shinning armor riding his white unicorn in equally shining armor and to get this thing done. I am skeptical myself, but if it were to happen - good on ya my brother, and if not, then as he has already said he will not have compromised his vision and maybe he will get out and film more paddling, learn new techniques, upgrade his equipment and try again to capture the essence of paddling and set it to a high priced soundtrack and succeed in his goals of putting out a movie on his own terms.
I think what really needs to be remembered here is that Adro has already succeeded. He has raised funds, put local paddlers on the big screen and been selected to numerous high profile film festivals. We love u bro and though your dream may seem to many of us as somewhat unrealistic, we can't stop you nor should we, despite are claims to better judgment. Mainly I can't complain because there is not much cooler to me than feeding my ego by watching myself air out the Oriental Massage on the big screen. We're all friends and fellow paddlers, and we now know that what really needs to be discussed is the merits of, and the special techniques associated with, that ever elusive topic of laser masturbation.

I'm outside the circle up there so I don't understand all the jabs and crap flying around here. But, I watched this and the other clips and will say: thanks for sharing/nice work/best wishes for achieving your vision.
Peter - I'll call you this weekend, if you are serious we'll talk numbers.
TG - Sorry dude, I think I over-reacted a bit to your post it just FELT slightly condescending (with all the caps) and it roused up some emotion in me. I realize you tried to explain your well informed point with the utmost sensitivity and respect. AND thank you for calling the film RAD. I hope I was able to inject enough humor to soften my somewhat gut response. (please forgive, oh omniscient one).
doublet - you bet, I'm not sure if its been run, I think it has (triple drop). Anyone know? Yes Conor's skills are rowdy.
Evan - Thanks for the refreshing focus on the half full glass. I appreciate the support and eloquent thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to put it all in perspective. FYI - replaced 'The Roots' with 'Granola Funk Express' (Big South) the band has seen the cut and they are stoked. Haven't reached Modest yet but I haven't used their work in any Festival pieces. No Ben Harper in the film.
ActionJackson - Thanks man, respect
And Finally, may you all have 'laser like masturbation skills', the answers are within, be creative, intuitive and courageous, and you too will be blessed with ninja like self satisfaction and pleasure. (at least this is what Peter tells me)
All in All, the film is done, on a local level. Now its about taking the appropriate steps to share it with other people that might appreciate it. In order to gain the support to do so, I have to continue getting it out in the world in one form or another. I will take all the (rational) thoughts in this thread into consideration while doing so. Thanks all.

Adrock, this is MCA and I got a license to kill, I think you know what time it is and its time to get ill. Seriously, I know that you want your film to be perfect and as a person who appreciates film as an art medium and respects directors' decisions on how and what they want their canvas to exist of I totally understand your desire. However, if it never comes to fruition I will still gladly give you $25 or what ever you feel is fair for a non-music dvd in a slim case, cause the video is sweet and you deserve some sort of compensation for your hard work.
Pete, I would take out a insurance policy on me. I ain't a betting man but I would put ten large down in vegas that I am gettin f-upped. Especially since I am in Vegas for three days and then taking a greyhound out to cali from there. Last time I checked three foot high Jack and Cokes don't help out your boating skills
