Here are the projected releases from Denver Water for the Roberts Tunnel for this weekend. You will need to add North Fork flows (about 100-150 cfs) for Foxton and Bailey to these releases.
Thurs. 6/30 - 200 cfs
Fri. 7/1 - 200 cfs
Sat. 7/2 -<200 cfs (to accommodate boating flows below Dillon)
Sun. 7/3 - <200 cfs (to accommodate boating flows below Dillon)
Mon. 7/4 - 450 cfs
These projections of Roberts Tunnel flows are being provided on a trial basis and should not be relied upon.
During the summer, the majority of flow in the North Fork often comes from Dillon Reservoir via the Roberts Tunnel. The Roberts Tunnel is a main supply for Denver Waters 1.2 million customers. When it rains in the metro area, water demand decreases and so does the flow in Roberts Tunnel. Changes in stream conditions and water rights on both the east and west slopes also affect tunnel flows. Consequently, the accuracy of these projections can be low and should not be relied upon. Denver Water is concerned that the low accuracy could make the projections misleading, but has agreed to provide them on a trial basis this summer. Please let CWWA know if they are helpful.
