Bailey in November

I know that the flow thru the tunnel would be non-existent for September, but what about October? Don't we need to make up for lost time and pump water thru the tunnel? Anyone have the scoop? Danger, can you give us insight once more?

wishful thinking.

from denver water

"I’m hoping to get the tunnel up and running around October 10. I plan to run the tunnel all winter, but at pretty low flow rates. There just is not enough demand in the winter to run much through the tunnel. Flows for October should be around 100 – 150cfs. Flows through the winter will be around 70 – 100 cfs."

Have you ever inquired as to why they can't schedule the releases any smarter. For example, instead of releasing 150 all day and night, let out 250 for 6 hours and then 100 the other 18 hours. Same amount of water gets transported at the end of the day. I'm not buying any wildlife arguments as there are much greater variances in flow in nature. Fish creek will go from 300-600 everyday of july, naturally.

good question that i haven't asked. i know they have limits on the amounts that they can crank it up and down. for instance they can't just spin the flow up to 500 cfs from 100cfs all at once. they have to titrate (nursing speak) the flows. i'll cut and paste your comment to dw and see what they say.
