Yes, but I think Charlies focus was to make sure that his list was complete. Does anyone know of any incidents that are missing from this list?

Certainly a buzz kill...but it's good to read each accident listing and let it sink in that people die on rivers and that we need to be careful.
I hope in the future Americans are thought of as a warlike, vicious people, because I bet a lot of high schools would pick "Americans" as their mascot. -Jack Handy

There was a fatality in Westwater that isn't listed. An accident report was posted several weeks ago.

Ya..sad, but look at how many are: no pfd, cheep rafts, inexperienced, damn hydrolics. Just shows that we need to re-enforce the experience and learning to avoid situations where people can die in an easy to avoid areas. PFD's are a must, doesn't matter if your in an inner tube or a kayak or a walmart raft. Stay away from strainers and damns. If we see this happening on the river, we need to at least tell them that they should have the gear, so at least people have heard it.

Water Rescue in Luzerne County

Monday, June 26, UPDATED: 10:20 p.m.

A man was rescued from a creek in Luzerne County Monday evening after hours of effort.

Rescue crews worked for hours Monday afternoon to free a man stuck in Mill Creek.

Crews were called to Mill Creek off Jumper Road in Plains Township about 3 p.m. after reports of a kayaker who became stuck in the creek.

Witnesses said they saw a man flagging down traffic along Jumper Road, looking for help. It soon became clear that more help was needed and rescuers from across the county were called. They used ropes to go down a 75 foot embankment and then a 50 foot embankment before finally reaching the kayaker.

Just before 6 p.m. the man was freed from the creek and flown to the hospital. Newswatch 16 has learned that his name is Paul Hoda of White Haven. As of Monday night, he was listed in satisfactory comdition at Community Medical Center in Scranton. Both Hoda and the man who flagged down help are said to be experienced kayakers.

Jumper Road was closed for hours as rescue crews worked to save the man.

A flush drowning I believe is one where you are not actually held underwater, but instead drown while swiming/floating.
