Austrian Kayaking Beta?

Anyone got any beta for Austrian kayaking? I'm headed to Europe with the family mid July. Loose plans are to spend part of the time around Innsbruck. Looking for beta on kayaking in Austria or around Innsbruck. I assume they have water that time of year, but have no clue how to check flows or understand snow / glacier / timing. I would need a paddle and boat rental. Since I am traveling with family and I would be the only kayaker, I also need to figure out folks to connect with or local guide service. Would like to do some 4/5 paddling. Anyone got any good links or beta? Any must dos in the area?

You should talk to Murphy - he lived over there for a bit.

A friend of ours told us about your post.
We are a Kayaking School based out in the West of Austria, roughly one hour from Innsbruck. We are positioned between all the classic Northern Alpine rivers such as the: Oetz, Inn, Sanna and Rosanna.
If you would like more information just drop me a message.

These guys might also be very helpful as they are based in Innsbruck: Kajakschule SOURCE TO SEA - Deine Kajakschule am Natterer See bei Innsbruck. Kajakkurse in Tirol und Camps weltweit!

Although their website is in German, they will certainly get back to any emails you may send to them in English.

If you have any specific questions or would like to get a second opinion on anything, feel free to send me a message.

Another potential contact nearby:
Contact Information - Swiftwater Rescue

Also, do consider taking a two-to-three day trip to the Soca Valley. While that's only class IV at most (except for the Cataract, but that is a syphon-fest), the river is unbeatable, it's amazing, it's beautiful, the emerald waters are unbeaten, and Venice is basically on the way if you go there via the Brenner Pass (and hey, Venice!)
