Heard an update this morning.......they don't believe that any of the tanks actually ruptured. Just a bunch of little 20 pound tanks floatin' around....I'm sure they'll get them removed before the weekend.

use a net and just tie it up and make sure nobody is in the river for a day

our local paper reports that only 4-5 tanks went into the river, did not explode, and were retrived.

Yeah, that was a new one on the list of why you can't get on the run you want. We were just getting ready to head out to run the Gorge when we heard it on the news. The thought of paddling amongst a bunch of depth charges didn't appeal so we opted for the #'s instead.

ever driven hwy 550 from ouray to durango in the middle of the winter? (on the two or three days a week they manage to get it open, of course)

Hey- don't knock the Million Dollar Highway- my grandfather helped build it. That was a lot of money back then for a road. Just slow down and take in the view...
