Ark Multi day

I am thinking of floating Rincon - Pinnacle Rock this weekend. Is there camping along the river in this section? Is this section any fun as far as white water, swimming, camping, etc. Just looking for a multi-day that offers a bit more than Upper C.

Thanks ya'll.

The camping is not abundant, but it is there. Might be more options below cotapaxi. Lots of private land. If you can find a map that shows public vs. private, it would be very helpful. if you find one, let us know.

there a few rapids cottonwood, maytag, tin cup, texas creek and the million rocks section or something like that and a few rock gardens at this level it's all prolly II+, if your doing the parkdale section i would scout 3 rocks and the general rule is dont go middle....
not going to give up camping spots so easily

edit: plenty of swimming

There is a float in only campground 20 miles below Salida, Valle bridge. If you put in at Salida and take out somewhere like Lone Pine or lower that is a good 2 day, 1 night float. You can check out the Valle bridge campground on Colorado State Parks web site.

The BLM had 30 x 60 minute quads that show public/private lands. They are old, so camper beware. I happened to have the Canon City map handy. The relevant parts are scanned in below.

Narrows to End of Gorge

Has anyone ever done this in a continous float? Would it be possible to pull off in two days at the current flows?

Can easily be done as 2 day trip.

There are cabins & river side camping at Whispering Pines about 20 miles below Ricon, upstream from Texas Creek (8 miles above Pinnacle Rock).

Riverside camping

On this stretch always be looking to the north side of the river for camping. There is camping between Salida and Rincon through the red rock/squirt spot area, after that you have to wait until the developed sites at Valley Bridge. Once you get past Cotopaxi there are a few sites on the north side of the river where gullies and washes meet the river.
There is a great swimming hole between Salida and Rincon and a couple of fun class III rapids (Tincup, Cottonwood, Maytag, Three Forks). It can be floated in one long day, or a fun two-day trip.
Definitely more fun than the upper C.

Narrows through Royal Gorge?

Continuous float from Narrows put in through the Royal Gorge would be roughly 80-90 river miles.....I don't think that could be done in two days.

I was commenting on OP (Ricon to Parkdale).
Where is the Narrows? Other than on the Poudre.
