Take this for what you want, because I have not gotten back from school in Oregon yet. I don't believe there is a guage for mad creek, I have always just based it off what fish creek is flowing at, or by eye. Fish creek is currently flowing at 153 cfs which translates to lapping over 1.6 on the visual guage by the water treatment center. I have always done mad creek with a healthy amount of water in it, which is when fish creek is running between 2.4 and 3.0 FT. I would assume if fish creek has not opened up even to 2.0ft, mad creek is definitely not going. It is a fickle run anyways, it is easy to get skunked by wood, or if it gets cold the night before the flow will drop drastically. I hope this helps, Dombey

No gauge... Visual.

Report back on the wood issue if you head over.

Wood is in all major rapids from what I saw last October.

I hiked the trail last Sunday and things looked on the low end of runnable. Mad mad world looked clean from what I could see. Did see a river wide log above that though. Don't know what the level has done since then. Yesterday was cold.. I'd say wait a bit and then scout pretty thoroughly from river level as you definitely can't see all you need to from the trail
