Anyone float Rio Chama below El Vado at 1000 CFS

I have a permit for the Rio Chama next weekend.... I saw today that flows are just above 1000 cfs.... Has anyone floated iot this year and if so what were the flows? Has anyone floated above 1000 cfs? Any swimming holes along the way and great side hikes with swimming holes? let me know.......

I think 1000cfs would be awesome! We did it a few years ago around 500-600cfs in our 17.5ft cataraft and it was doable but very tight - definitly had to watch the downstream oar. I think 1000cfs would be a fun fun time. Not sure about hiking unfortunately... we did some bushwacking and it was fun. Maybe others know more beta about actual hiking trails. Have fun, you'll love the Chama is beautiful!

The side hike up to see the dinosaur tracks is pretty neat - ask the ranger at the put-in. I also like the short hike up Huckabay Canyon, which is also a great camp for a big group. Not much in the way of swimming holes that I know of and the river itself is pretty cold. 1,000 cfs will be great. Enjoy!

There are some hot springs across the river from Ward Ranch, old farm house and some fencing. 1000cfs is a great level especially once you get down into the daily/Monastery stretch. Map, and you can find some sweet hikes to Dinosaur tracks, and great views of the area.
