Anyone ever flown boats with DELTA?? Help, i need (more.....

can buy cheap Chile tickets but the deadline is in like 2 hours.... Im definitely going but unfortunately all the cheap fares are on Delta. Their official policy is that they DONT take boats. Anyone ever actually flown with them?

...I've flown with them, but I never took a boat. They seemed to be super strict, and the consensus (from asking + researching web) was that it'd be rather impossible to slip through with the surfboard story. I guess Delta got burned during the Sidney Olympics, when they cracked some of the slalom boats, and so they categorically disallowed kayaks ever since. So, personally, I decided not to risk it and flew other airlines when I needed to take a boat. Hope this helps,
