Another reason why you should buy Jackson kayaks

So let me start off by saying that in no way am I affiliated with Jackson kayaks other then I really like the all star that they make!
I picked up an 06 all star 3-4 weeks ago and have been lovin it ever since. Today I woke up early to go paddle in lyons before I had to work. I hit one of the rocks Colorado is so well know for while I was paddleing. I hit it and it just sounded different, then I started to notice some water in the boat (something that I have not experianced with my Jackson playboat). I got out and noticed two cracks in the boat..
So my first thought was %$#@! it's the firday before memorial day weekend and my boat is sinking. There is no way that a warrenty department is going to be able to handle this until mid next week. So I rushed up to work jump on the internet on the off chance that someone would be there. Carmen (the awesome warrenty lady) picked up the phone and callmed me down with the skill of a hostage negotiator and with in minutes had me taking pics of the boat while they were figureing out how they were going to take care of me.
Needless to say that the pretty much handled the whole thing in less then a day (mind you this was not just any day it's the friday before memorial day weekend, most people call that quittin time) Marty(our local Jackson guy) even called me twice today to help dry my tears and to talk to me about what they are going to do for me..
What a cool ass company that is totally worth supporting. I love the degisins of the boats and I love the piece of mind that comes with knowing you invested a $1,000 dollars in them and they are invested in you as a long term coustomer. I am now sold on Jackson. If you are thinking about any boat out there I hope this pushes you over the edge to go with a solid boat, a solid company, and a very solid group of boaters that is Jackson kayaks.

That rocks. Do 'em a favor - HAND WRITE a thank you note. It will go a long way to making everyone's day and making them feel appreciated for the hard work they did for you.

This applies especially to the warranty lady, whose job is only to deal with unhappy boaters (remember - you don't call her to tell her that your boat is doing fine - she gets all the nasty calls).

Boof-
Not that it really matters, but if you are writing a note to her, Carman spells her name with an "an". I've been dealing with her on a cracked Super Fun and can second your opinions. It took her all of about two seconds on the phone to let me know they'd be replacing my hull and what color would I want sent out. She's incredibly helpful. They're a great company to deal with and they design and build great products.

mo' jackson luv..

There's so much Jackson love bein' spread that I had to add my .02 today..

I put money down on a new allstar a couple weeks ago at CKS thinking that the boat was gonna be delivered to BV within a week.. Turns out it's taking a little longer than expected bc of the demand.. Sooo, I email Marty, -yes, the man, the myth, the legend.. (who I didn't even know beforehand) to see if he had the inside scoop on when the boats would be delivered to CKS.. You know what that guy did?! He loaned me a demo allstar until my boat shows up at CKs a couple weeks from now, because I'd been boatless in the mean time!! That is serious Customer Service!!

I told him I was gonna mention this on the buzz, so don't everybody call him up asking for demo's..

Btw.. I played for a couple hours in Lyons today, and the boat rocked! Spins like it's on ice.. and cartwheels pretty effortlessly.. -not to mention the happy feet make it the most comfortable playboat I've ever sat in..

I'm sold..EJ, The Craw, and the company, rock!..

Word. Jackson is a top drawer company all around: merchandise, service and general attitude. Proof that you can run your business without your chief concern being the money...and still make money. If every business in America ran like that I might not be so down on capitalism.

i disagree, jackson does have good costomer support and an amazing team, but i feel that the outfitting of jackson boats falls apart quickly, and the designs are just inferior to many other companies. the project is the best playboat ever made hands down, and the jefe is the best creeker. the rocker is shaped like a big log with no real design involved, also it has very little rocker the star/fun are very poor designs in my opinion with too short sterns and the lame directional things on the bottom make the boat slow and hard to spin. i would not buy a jackson kayak, the quality just isnt as good

All Star

Fred, the project might be the best boat for you. That's great. But- I don't fit into it. So, is it still the best boat for me? I don't get it. If I'm not sub 6'- I don't get to paddle the greatest boat ever? I think Wave Sport needs to find some new sizes. Very few of paddlers that wanted to paddle that boat could fit into it. Plus, I handle all the warrenty service around here so I've got the real inside scoop when it comes to customer service. I really don't need to go on. But- your point is noted.

I've owned daggers, pyrahnas, and wavesport boats, and I respect that wavesprt makes a decent boat, although I'm not fan of the sizing either. In my experience I think the outfitting in those boats can also be a little lacking. I borrowed a friends year old ZG last week, and the ratchets were breaking, and the seat was falling apart..plus where the ratchets are located, they'll wear a hole in a skirt..-great design

I don't know how this years boat are though..

Jackson outfitting is designed to be simple and ez to fix if it does break.. -that's the beauty of it.. if it does fall apart or wear out.. -ya go to walmart or home depot and spend 9 bucks on some foam, glue, or cord to fix it, then back on the water in a half hour, good as new.. It's brilliant, and it's light.. and there aren't holes everywhere..

Most of the playboat designs out there work.. Not sure how one could say Jackson's are inferior.. but to each his own. One thing I know is that in the 2 days I've been in this demo allstar, my hole playing skilz have just been upped a few notches.. and the stuff I already knew how to do, just got alot easier..

friends don't friends drive crappy boats..

EJ for president.. -rock on.
