I wish I knew last night. I was stopped by the sheriff and told that the road was closed and the river also. He looked at the kayak on the roof and said the river was closed especially for that! Now I wish I had the exception.

thanks for all the work to get the exception!

S. Platte "closure"

Just a question that's been bugging me about this...If they've closed the road, doesn't that make shuttle impossible, effectively closing the river? Or a long walk with a kayak, and a nearly impossible walk with a raft, and if you use the road to walk back, are you violating the road closure?

Inquiring minds would like to know!

In the meantime, enjoy the water!

I just asked the question on the JeffCo Sherrif's fb page. Indeed, they have effectively closed the river to all use, as they are not allowing any vehicle traffic unless you can prove you live in the area and need to be on the road.

Based on the gauges, really doesn't seem like the North Fork is running all that high. I was on it last weekend before the closures - based on gauges, seems like it's around that same level...

Doesn't make much sense to me to have the road closed for the Foxton stretch.

We just spoke to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office representative and all roads are open again.

Have fun!
