From what I remember it's most fun below 20k. around 15k tumbleweed gets a huge wavehole from center to right wall that can be punched on the left and is a big hit. fang is best surfed at lower water too i think in the 3 to 5k range. working on memory though it's been a few years.

I'm not saying don't go for it, if it is your only option. I think the commercials quit running at like 25K? And I've heard of people running it up to 40K. If you really want to do it, check with some of the local outfitters and see if any of their folks are running it for fun.

we ran the Clearwater into the Blackfoot on Sunday at about a grand. It was a nice run, roundup was actually a bit bumpier than I expected. I'd avoid the gorge for a bit.

Right on! 20k might not be far off - looks like 25k today. I've been wanting to get on that section of the Clearwater. Did that section of the Blackfoot below Roundup earlier this week and thought it was a blast. Heading up the MF and NF of the Flathead this weekend!
