10. It makes for a great excuse – e.g., this year the water's is so low, I am just focusing on other things like hunting (read: class V gives me nightmares, bro)
9. Brings the community together – we all get to see each other more often because there are only a few options!
8. Burn off that lazy kayaker/rafter belly – we'll have to find other things to do outside that actually burn calories like hike, bike and watch volleyball at Wash Park.
7. Idaho, Northwest, B.C. – go West, son!
6. Float trips – don't really matter how much water is in the river when you're on river time, floating down the canyon, consuming beverages and vitamin D.
5. Dams – can't live with them, can't live without them. This year we love them (and the river stewards like deepsouthpaddler that help us get the dam flow!)
4. Memories – dang it was good last year!
3. Missions – somewhere there is water, and the lack of flow in your backyard makes you get out there to find it.
2. Smacktalk – less time boating equals more time on the buzz. Didn't that Joe Keck guy used to live here in CO? I am pretty sure he would have loved this year!
