A "thanks" shout-out for some shuttle help...

A few of us were running a training lap (commercial company) on Upper Clear Creek yesterday evening. With the higher water it was a shotgun ride, and we finished a lot faster than we had planned on, so we ended up trying for a second lap. Unfortunately, our shuttle driver had to bail. There was a group of kayakers looking to hitch a ride back to Kermit's to bring their car down. We gladly agreed, and then seeing an opportunity, asked if he'd be willing to help us set shuttle again so we could try for an extra lap. Their driver (and I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, but I hope you see this) gladly agreed to help us out. Since we had the company van, he couldn't drive it, so it required an extra lap to bring our driver back up. It was a huge help, and we thoroughly enjoyed our second lap!

Just wanted to give a public shout-out to that guy and say thanks. If you happened to be in that group of paddlers (2 guys, 1 girl), would you mind passing along our thanks.

Also, as an aside, with all the commercial vs. private boater debates going on, I just wanted to point out that this was a great example of the two being mutually beneficial and working together and helping each other out. It can be done! Granted, we didn't have paying customers, but it was still a company "outing." (I know, I've been on both sides of the coin and had good and bad experiences, so please don't flame this with bad experiences...leave that for the other threads!) Judging by the looks on their faces and the non-stop laughter and grins in our group, I think everyone enjoyed the river yesterday, and hopefully they enjoyed it more with our help as I know we did with theirs!

Back on topic: Thanks, again!
