A Past Reflection
Every year on my sons birthday I sit and read the emails that he sent me from all over the world. I saved them thinking one day he could share them with his own son. Since he was not able to do that - I thought I would share one of them with this community of boaterís that he loved so much.
ďI had a 45 second talk with God on the river the other day and he told me to never forget how great life really is. It all went black - no air, no light, no body - nothing. So lonely - donít let me die like this. I lost everything to the rio - kayak, gear, but not my life. I just kept pushing and the rio told me to chill out. I lost the respect and pushed too much. I stopped going with the flow, went against it and paid. You can join the rio, you can follow the rio, but donít ever think without the respect you can pass easily. I donít care about the things I lost. I still have the most incredible things - body, soul and smile. Life!!!!!!!!!! Iím sorry for being so stupid - I love you pops.
