Sounds like a possible 'epic' mis-adventure. Doesn't everyone have a mis-adventure at some time in their paddling carreer?

I remember my last mis-adventure very well

My famous qoute to our group was
" I scouted all but a half mile of the mandatory gorge"

That half mile was epic..........

Sorry Ed and Todd

Note to self: Always be sure to scout the entire gorge especially when you rappel into the gorge and there is no way out until you get to the car!

hahaha i love the fifth tip.. perfect way to end a story :
"Five, measure the gradient before you commit yourself to the run..... Not much is worse than faking sleep in your kayak gear, while spooning your favorite paddling partner and waiting for the sun to rise."

Sometimes you gotta' be a cowboy and let her buck! And sometimes places on the map draw you in. Good story. Is it my imagination or are those some sick high water marks in the Middle of the Jug photo?

Evan...

Never put the 1K per day together. But now that I see it in writing, it's a great way to consider it. Actually, 1K might be a bit stout on some runs.

Sounds like you had one of "those" epics. Regardless, I say good on yeah for getting in there and exploring from water level. Just glad I wasn't with you! HA

-Ya, pretty sick high water mark. here is an example of a "boatable" flow for the Jug. It's an epic place....HERE

As for the Upper....well i wish it went at the flow we had it at.
