5 Day Solo Grand Canyon Vidoe

Hi All, here is another video of what has recently become a popular trip among the fast solo kayaker crowd, a solo kayak run from Lee’s to Diamond Creek in the winter when chances of winning the Grand Canyon river permit lottery are a little better.

This video by Chris Hipgrave, averaging 50 miles a day, is not to be used to look at the rapids in a sequential order, as you will see a nice run of Granite after Deer Creek Falls, and some other changes. Still, if you are into speed, Chris shows you one example of a five day run from Lee’s to Diamond. As Chris says, he achieved his goal and “banged out” the Canyon.

Editors note: The Grand Canyon actually extends from Lee’s Ferry at Mile 0 to the Grand Wash Cliffs at Mile 277. Diamond Creek is at Mile 226, so we expect to see Chris back to complete the run, maybe in 5 days Lee’s to Pearce. FYI, tom
