4th of July Race: Poudre Narrows - POSTPONED

A few folks last night at the bar decided we should all get together for an unofficial race on the Narrows of the Poudre this weekend. That's if the Big South does not come back up over the weekend.

Date: Sunday, 4th of July @ noon. Meet at the lower narrows.

Race format: Self timed. Bring your own wrist watch with stopwatch.

Classes: Retro, Playboats, Creek boats.


Put-in location will vary according to your class. Put-in and take-out options will vary based on who shows up, and will be determined on Sunday. Options will include just the Middle Narrows, or combinations of Upper through Lower.

Experienced class IV and V boaters only.

Bring all your boats and enter as many classes as you own boats.

Bring a bike for shuttle if you have room.

Bring beer for takeout and race prep.

Spectators are welcome and may be encouraged to help with safety.

Due to forces outside of our control, the Poudre Narrows race has been postponed until further notice.

The good news is the Big South is running and was 1.75ft today. It appears all the flow is natural, so it *should* stay up through the weekend. Will post an update on Big South flows tomorrow evening.
