Also at high water long swims are pretty normal, no eddies, exhausted swimmers, no eddies. Did I say no eddies. At flood our easy III and IV runs are more dangerous. Especially after 10 years of low flows and no one is used to full river banks. This is not pool/drop boating right now.

So I've (by incident) now been mentioned in the Vail Daily, Denver Post (Yes that is a pic of my boat!), on channel 7 & 9 news, - that I've found.

I think the really sad thing is that it's two weeks later, it's taken a lot of boating accidents and 4 deaths for it to make the news! Wouldn't it have been better to have mentioned it BEFORE all this happened as a warning and wake up call to the general public as well as the boating community! I know my accident woke me up! The water wasn't near as high and I knew better... It only took a second of misjudgment.

I also wish that the news was stressing the lack of PFDs in the deaths. PFDs almost seem to be an after thought.
