Pine Creek yesterday at approx 300 cfs and SHOSHO today whatever the flow was......
Still early to tell but these are my findings
Still very Quick
Turns on a dime
Burly
Boofs well (minimal opportunities)
Tracking is slightly diminished
Stays on top of the water much better .....for example instead of piercing holes the bow floats over them........
It does not however seem to get pushed off line when going though holes
Eddy catching requires a more significant lean than the last Rocker
WAY more foot room....and for a guy that's as Big Footed as me that's very important
The outfitting has minimal changes but there are a few (I already really love the simple and comfortable design of the old models)
There is a loop to help support the boat when shouldering perfectly placed and not in any way a safety threat............there is a flip up front bulkhead so you can stash empty beer cans up front.....there is much easier access to the back so you can stash many unopened beers (or safety equipment)
Overall.....I would highly recommend this boat....basically what I see is that Jackson has taken all the input from the last design and integrated it into the new model......except a beer bottle opener......Nice work.
Kayaking season is now open ..................Gunny Gorge Access road is not.
