Deepstroke, those are some nice pix. First time I've seen Buchanan Spillway with water in it. It sure is impressive from space (Google).

Anyone reading this know how to get in touch w/ a boater named Aaron Smith? Word is he's been trying to get with/over/through/around/under the Corps of Engineers to get planned releases on this spillway. Got a similar situation up here in Oklahoma and would like to connect with Aaron to compare notes and strategies.

Vierling is correct, Hobie. And Action Jackson, if Aaron could get some releases on Buchanan Spillway, he would attain a god-like status. I'll pm you his e-mail address. They only release onto the spillway when the lake is at capacity and the inflow exceeds the 7,500 cfs hydro-electric discharge capacity. I can't imagine them letting water down the spillway for the benefit of a few crazy kayakers at the expense of losing that hydro-electric $. Although, it is such a sick run, that if the powers that be could be persuaded of the ''tourism money'', maybe a few scheduled releases could occur. Wassup AW?
