So I won the lottery yesterday and scored a Feb 9, 2010 trip. Yay me.

The NPS wants my list by 1 Dec, 2009 so obviously I am in a bit of a scramble to get some commitments. People who add after that have to pay an extra c-note. If you are for the most part easy going and have been dreaming of this trip perhaps this is your chance. Like every other trip we would like to balance it out with some gals. You do not need to be a class V boater to do this trip. The most important factor is desire to make it happen - telling your boss/spouse/dog you will be gone for two weeks and doing it.

This trip will be ~15 days on the water for an average of ~15 miles per day. I like to get going early so we have time to stop places and hike and also get to camp before too late. The average temps at Phantom Ranch in Feb are high of 63.7 F and low of 41.5 F at night. I would recommend having a drysuit or at least wetsuit/drytop combo.

I am not rolling in dough so group cost will be kept to ~$600 per person (group food, shuttle, permit, tribe fees). Any gear you need to buy or rent is on your own. I am based in Durango so some carpooling will happen from there. Still interested? send me an email or p.m. with your info and a phone number. I am trying to get a trip together to run the Gorge on next Saturday. If reports are correct, we should be seeing over 800 CFS. Long range weather forecast is up in the air. Anyone interested?

If there are any Friday night jones'ers out there looking for a late season whitewater fix...numbers tomorrow. Meeting at miner's camp around 10 to get baked and set shuttle.
Any one that wants to join is welcome. Several good boofs, lots of good splat rocks, a few decent surf waves...what more could you ask for this time of year!?

I am new to the Board and the area and i was wondering if any one around Jackson was still boating this time of year? I have my creek boat with me and would love to get out before the snow flies. I am a confidant class four + boater.

Came up to 620 thats enough for me, anyone else want to paddle before the ski season starts? I'm off friday-sunday would like to get maybe a day run on friday the a two day over the weekend.

We're thinking of a trip and staying at Hotel Interamericano. We'd like to hook up with other kayakers interested in Class III/IV.
Tradionally is this a good time of year for water? Someone said it's an El Nino year down there which means low water:confused:.

Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to use our permit for this weekend. If you'd like to take it over, please send me a pm by 11am and we can get it switched. Permit is for 9 and is an over night permit launching Saturday. Sometimes things happen...

So, what run has the most Class IV- to Class IV+ drops in CO? in CA? In NC?

And how long are they, miles-wise?

How many do you think you could do in one day, max? I mean where could you go to get say 24 Class IV drops in one day? Is it possible?

How about 50 drops in a day?

Anyone have any ideas on westwater shuttles? Coming down from Jackson with one car and wondering if there are bike options? or shuttle services? Hitching? thanks for any help.

HEY GUYS, THE HUASTECA REGION IN MEXICO IS SUFFERING BECAUSE THE RAIN HASN'T COME YET. THE MINAS VIEJAS RIVER SUFFERING A LOT. IN THE LAST WEEK 7 EARTH-CRACK HIT MINAS VIEHAS ,AND CREATE A CRACK WERE THE 40% OF THE WATER IS GOING THERE AND NON COMING BACK TO THE RIVER.
MICOS RIVER NOW IS OK, BUT EARLY IN THIS SESSON IS GOIN TO BE RELLY LOW BECAUSE OF THE RAIN.
TAMPAON RIVER IS THE ONLY ONE IS RUNNING OK.

BUT I AM NOT SHURE IF IS GOING TO RAIN HERE.. SO I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS INFO ABOUT IT..

Good weather and good flows. Jeff and I will be there for sure on Sunday, but I could go Saturday if anybody else will be there. Get some gore before its gone.
